About Karen

Karen’s interest in the law began in her late teens. She earned an Honours Diploma in Police Foundations from Cambrian College of Applied Arts & Technology and went on to obtain her Security & Private Investigation licences, working in both roles after graduation.

After relocating to London from Timmins, ON in 2000, she spent several years in manufacturing with Presstran, Formet, and Sterling Trucks before returning to her true passion—law. She completed her Honours Diploma in Paralegal Studies in 2007, obtained her Class P1 Paralegal Licence from the Law Society of Ontario in 2009, and launched her own Paralegal practice. She later joined one of Ontario’s largest paralegal firms, Accident Resolution Group, where she handled WSIB matters, Statutory Accident Benefits (SABS), Landlord & Tenant files, Small Claims Court actions, and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario applications.

In August 2020, amendments to the Notaries Act opened the door for Paralegals to become Notaries Public. Karen applied for the designation and received her appointment from the Attorney General of Ontario in June 2021. She established her office shortly after in Wortley Village, located in a beautifully restored 1887 heritage Italianate home.

Since opening, Karen’s Notary Public practice has consistently maintained a 5-Star Google rating with more than 350 reviews. She is an active member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Paralegal Society of Ontario, the London Chamber of Commerce, and the Old South Business Association.

Outside her professional work, Karen enjoys spending time outdoors—archery, kayaking, fishing (including ice fishing), and camping. Karen is an avid player of the sport of Cornhole and runs a Cornhole facilitating company and a weekly Cornhole League called The519Toss.  She also expresses her creativity through original collage art on canvas.

Karen currently practices exclusively as a Notary Public and Commissioner for Taking Affidavits. She does not provide legal services or legal advice. For anyone requiring legal guidance before completing a letter, form, or document, please visit the Law Society of Ontario’s directory of licensed lawyers and paralegals: https://www.lso.ca/public-resources/finding-a-lawyer-or-paralegal.

She looks forward to a long career supporting clients with their Notary Public needs, in both English and French.
